A building made by working people

This is bigger than saving a pub.

The Workies was founded opposite the pit gates in 1893. For generations, it gave Tumble somewhere to meet, organise, celebrate and belong.

Now its future is uncertain. Our independent campaign is building the support, structure and professional case needed to keep it useful to the community.

One club. A much bigger idea.

We want Tumble to become an early case study for communities taking ownership of the places that matter to them.

The campaign is working with Cwmpas, exploring Welsh Government funding routes and speaking with elected representatives. A meeting with Cefin Campbell MS is scheduled for 29 July 2026.

These conversations are not funding promises or endorsements. They show that a credible community route is being taken seriously.

Community places should not disappear simply because ordinary people were never given a realistic route to save them.
