Who is responsible?
The independent Save the Workies campaign is currently coordinated by Scott Flear with local volunteers. It is not run by the current club committee. Questions and data requests can be sent to hello@savetheworkies.com.
What we collect
- Pledges and donations: Stripe processes payment and billing details. The campaign receives the payment status, amount and the supporter name or message supplied for the public wall.
- Forms and email: details people choose to send when joining updates, volunteering, offering business help or asking for a members’ meeting.
- First-party website counts: page, source, action and a salted hash of the IP address. This system uses no analytics cookies and never publishes an IP address.
- Advertising measurement: Meta tracking will load only if a visitor actively accepts it. Rejecting does not stop the website working or prevent a pledge.
Why we use it
We use information to process and acknowledge support, administer subscriptions, answer requests, organise campaign work, prevent abuse, report honest aggregate figures and improve the route from public appeals to confirmed pledges. Email updates always provide a way to unsubscribe.
Who receives it
Services used to run the campaign include Stripe for payments, Amazon Web Services for hosting and secure storage, and email-delivery providers for campaign messages. Meta receives measurement data only after advertising-tracking consent. Nothing is sent to the current club committee as a campaign payment.
How long we keep it
We keep records only while they are needed for the campaign purpose, financial or legal records, fraud prevention, or an active request. Member-meeting details are reviewed after that process. People can ask us to correct or delete information where the law allows.
Your choices and rights
You can ask what personal information the campaign holds about you, request a correction, object to some uses, or ask for deletion where applicable. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
The short version
No hidden sale of data. No Meta Pixel before consent. No payment card details handled by the campaign website.
